MY STORY
ECO-FRIENDLY CLOTHING - BETTER FOR YOU AND BETTER FOR OUR MOTHER EARTH
Taking care of Mother Earth requires a collective effort. I passionately believe and embody this through my business Studio 33.
I believe in being a guardian of all life, making choices that leave a smaller footprint. Studio 33 offers eco-friendly clothing provides oversized, comfortable garments designed for ease of movement.
Most fabrics are eco-friendly and sourced from local independent fabric suppliers. Unlike the fashion industry, which often neglects environmental concerns, Studio 33 embraces the new movement of caring for nature. Sofia, driven by her passion to break this pattern, dedicates her time to carefully selecting alternative options that support the eco movement. It is time to break this pattern; “spending time picking and choosing the alternatives, to support the eco movement is not only my privilege but a huge part of the enjoyment”.
Looking after your garments is simple. Studio 33 recommends to hand wash all garments. However with the fast paced life styles some of us live in, this is not always an option, please don’t panic! A delicate wash will also be just fine. Do get in touch for any wear and tear to your garment. All returning customers and their garments are cherished by me fixing any wear and tear for a small repair fee. "Over time, I believe garments become softer, wear better, and hold countless memories. By mending clothing instead of discarding them in landfills, we not only save money but also preserve cherished moments." My Central American heritage flows through my designs, featuring elements like woven fabrics and ponchos. I value the humility that comes with wearing eco-friendly clothing. These garments remind us to focus on protecting natural resources: our mountain streams, rivers, oceans, the water we drink, forests that produce clean air, and plants that provide oxygen, food, and healing properties. The sun supports crop growth, and the soil sustains and nourishes us. I encourage you to join the eco tribe because developing a closer relationship with nature is beneficial for both you and our planet.
“This is only the beginning and there is plenty more in the pipeline for STUDIO 33 and I can't wait!
Here are some of my future plans for Studio 33. I am hoping to connect with Plant a Tree partnership for social responsibilities of my Buisness. Doing this will allow all my customers to purchase an item resulting in a beautiful tree being planted. I will be adding hand woven blankets, felting, baby clothing, dog coats and so much more.
Blessed with the life I was given here in the UK it is important to me, to give back to Honduras where I was born. I will make it my mission to collaborate with indigenous native creators of Central & South America and their traditional items supporting them along their journey too. I will also be collaborating with local fellow sisters and brothers in my community that are also thriving to produce nature driven items. We will stand together shoulder to shoulder to make change.”

Sofia's connection with nature inspired her to learn how she could become a better person and help protect Mother Earth.
“The more I read the more I learn how much change is needed in the world. At the beginning, I felt out of my depth. However, I have noticed less guilt shadowing over me, knowing I am doing my small yet important part to make a difference. It is apparent this is going to take courage and commitment to change and swap all that is not good. Consumerism is led by people with money and power to benefit their own wealth with no consideration of our Mother Earth. I am not perfect. I do try. I am conscious about the choices I make, and this is my start.
I am always thriving to learn more.” Learning about the worsening environmental crises in Central & South America, Africa and Central Africa, including the democratic republic of Congo (the home of another important rainforest- Congo Basin), Bangladesh, Somalia to name just a few.
It was both shocking and necessary to learn.
Illegal logging and deforestation lead to biodiversity loss, soil erosion, and melting glaciers. Rainforests are essential as they provide food, water, wood, and medicines, and help stabilize the climate.
The Amazon rainforest alone stores 150-200 billion tons of carbon and releases 20 billion tons of water into the atmosphere daily, playing a critical role in global carbon and water cycles. The Amazon is under severe threat from deforestation and fires, and protected areas and Indigenous lands face increasing dangers. We cannot tackle the climate crisis without the Amazon’s crucial role.
These places need our help more than ever.
The phrase "NATURAL DISASTERS" should be avoided. Disasters occur because of human actions that could have been prevented. The behaviour of those with power and money often leaves others, especially poor people vulnerable, making poverty worse. The poorer people are the harder it is to recover from failed harvests.
We must also protect Indigenous people because they are essential knowledge keepers, healers and land protectors. Why?
Because… Indigenous Peoples help protect our environment, building resilience to natural disasters, fight climate change. Even though they are protecting the environment their rights aren't always protected.
While Indigenous Peoples own a quarter of the world's surface area. Safeguarding 80% of the world's remaining biodiversity.
